Common questions
What's the difference between a CertSafe-issued cert and a self-uploaded one?
Certs you issue through CertSafe carry a green ✅ verified checkmark in the worker's wallet and on the public verification page — supervisors see Issued by [You] · Verified by CertSafe. Self-uploaded certs (which workers can also add) don't carry this badge. Only the issuer can revoke an issued cert; workers can't delete it.
We're a GC, not a training company. Can we use CertSafe?
Yes. The unified Issuer Portal serves both training companies (whose business IS issuing certs) and employers issuing their own certifications — GCs issuing site-specific safety orientations, plant operators issuing LOTO authorisations, mining operators issuing site inductions. Same product, same per-recipient pricing.
How does the pricing work?
Per unique recipient (per user), not per certificate. You're billed once for each worker you've issued at least one cert to — regardless of how many certs that worker holds from you. A worker who receives 5 certs from you in a year is one billing line. Predictable, headcount-based.
What if a worker doesn't have a smartphone or doesn't claim their cert?
Issued certs sit on a claim link for 30 days; you can resend the link any time. Once claimed, the cert is verifiable forever (until you revoke or it expires). For workers without smartphones, you can issue a printable QR card that supervisors verify the same way.
Does verification work offline?
Yes. Each cert's QR carries a signed payload that supervisors verify locally on their own phone — no server call required at scan time. Verifications sync back when connectivity returns so the audit log stays complete.
How does the application review work?
When you apply, our ops team reviews your accreditation (for training companies) or employer / contractor relationship (for companies issuing their own certs) within 2 business days. If approved, you receive an activation email and can begin issuing. If we have questions, we email you directly.
